For those families whose children are now home from school, it is important to keep in mind that part of their “distance-learning” program needs to also include what they had when they went to school: recess, gym, and/or a sport.
Therefore we need to build in time as a family for physical activity. This is also important to help us parents counter the stress we might be experiencing because of the context we are presently in, and to constructively use up some of the youthful energy in our children.
Day # 2 Idea
Build in time each day to take a walk/run/bike together. Another idea is what I did with my children, I dusted off the Wiffle ball & bat, and Cornhole Boards, and had some fun. If you decide to play a sport, chose one all family members can participate in.
Please share your experiences as you implement my ideas or any others you have implemented with your family.
