Family “Quarantine” Time – Day # 11 Idea
March 26th, 2020
By way of reminder, Day # 10’s Idea focused on helping families create a meaningful conversation with their tween and teenage children. We asked our younger children the questions and their responses blew us away…we were very encouraged!
Day # 11 Idea
Today’s idea provides an opportunity for families to create a fun, shared experience, especially with their elementary age children.
Turn your kitchen into a restaurant! Have your children name the “restaurant”, put together the food menu for a day, set the table for each meal (opportunity to teach how to do this properly if you haven’t done so already), and serve the food. To the degree that they can prepare the food, have them do so and help as needed.
Parents should role play as if they were attending one of their favorite restaurants.
Have fun and look for opportunities to teach about service, business, and table etiquette.
Please share your experiences as you implement my ideas or any others you have implemented with your family.
