The primary reason that family wealth dissipates in a few generations is a breakdown in what we refer to as the business of being family (not the family business). The business of being family has to do with how a family makes decisions together, how they communicate about important topics, and how the next generation is prepared, for example. In essence, the business of being family has to do with preparing the family for their assets, versus preparing the assets for the family. This index is to be completed by family members, and will provide an indication of strengths, opportunities, and alignments pertaining to the important aspects of the business of being family. When you respond to the statements in this index, please keep in mind there are no right or wrong answers, so just answer honestly. After family members individually complete this success index, a summary report will automatically be generated consisting of average ratings for each of the statements. All responses will be kept 100% anonymous!

Family Skills Success Index™ (FSSI)

Being related by blood or marriage is not enough to ensure agreement about how to share and make decisions about a family asset. Sharing an asset requires intention and skills. This index is to be completed by family members who presently or in the future will be responsible for sharing family assets such as a business, real estate, foundation, and so forth. The results will provide an indication of strengths, opportunities, and alignments pertaining to the critical skills required to share family assets. When you respond to the statements in this index, please keep in mind there are no right or wrong answers, so just answer honestly. After family members individually complete this success index, a summary report will automatically be generated consisting of average ratings for each of the statements. All responses will be kept 100% anonymous!
