Happiness Habits for Money, Family, & Legacy
July 20th, 2015
In my book LEGACY I write about the important relationship between money, happiness, and family. In short, if money is properly understand and used to serve our goals and intended legacies, then we will be happier. If we misunderstand the role of money in our lives, it will lead to unhappiness and ultimately despair.
In bestselling author Gretchen Rubin’s new book, Better Than Before: Mastering the Habits of Our Everyday Lives, she explains why habits can make us happier. In particular, Gretchen talks about the importance of establishing our “foundational habits” which in turn sets the stage for other habits that lead to flourishing lives.
To connect Gretchen’s new book with my book LEGACY, I believe the research-based wisdom she provides has a direct relationship to money, family, and legacy. As I say in LEGACY, legacy is less about what happens when we pass and more about the decisions we make each day of our lives. Gretchen’s book provides a framework and techniques to help us customize a plan to enhance each of our lives so that we can more effectively establish the habits that will lead to happier lives and in turn, will fulfill our intended legacies.
